DAVID HOOK TRAVEL BURSARIES – 2010APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR 2010 BURSARIES.

In 2009 we were pleased to receive an increased number of applications for bursaries a total of almost £750 was allocated to five worthy applicants.   Trips and expeditions supported in 2009 were medical electives (hands on experiences of medicine in other countries) in Ghana, Nepal and India, a conservation trip to inland Iceland and the Venture Scout expedition to Uganda.   In all cases we are looking for initiative on the part of the applicants in arranging their trips as well as the worthwhile nature of the trip itself. Thank you to all those who already donated to the travel bursary fund in memory of David Hook.   We are still very happy to receive donations, large and small, for the bursary fund - please contact Andrew Bishop, Island Cottage, The Leigh, Gloucester, GL19 4AG - 01242 680425 or - for further information. The Association has also been able to provide some small financial assistance to enable a pupil at the School and with some cricketing ability to participate in a School Cricket tour over the May Bank Holiday, which otherwise he may not have been able to do.
